SMART Aviation Family Meetings are a secular, dedicated space created specifically for aviation families navigating the challenges of a loved one’s addiction.
Addiction looks different in every family. It may involve alcohol, substances, or certain behaviors that begin to affect well-being, relationships, and everyday life—whatever form it takes, you deserve support, understanding, and tools to navigate it with confidence.
Through SMART Recovery Family & Friends, we provide a supportive and structured environment where you can gain practical tools, meaningful insight, and connection with others who understand the unique pressures of aviation life.
These meetings are designed to empower you—because supporting your loved one starts with strengthening yourself. You’ll learn how to set healthy boundaries, communicate more effectively, and respond in ways that support positive change while maintaining your own well-being.
Grounded in SMART Recovery, Community Reinforcement Approach & Family Training (CRAFT), and the Invitation to Change approach, this program offers a modern, skills-based framework rooted in evidence-informed practices. Each session provides a respectful space to explore real-life situations, build confidence, and develop strategies that support both you and your loved one.
Join us as we launch SMART Aviation Family meetings beginning June 2026.
The SMART Recovery Family & Friends program is a mutual support model designed for those impacted by a loved one’s addictive behaviors. It integrates the SMART Recovery 4-Point Program, Community Reinforcement Approach & Family Training (CRAFT), and the Invitation to Change approach.
Participants connect with others who share similar experiences while learning and practicing practical tools to navigate challenges, improve communication, and support change—at their own pace and in their own way.
You are not alone. Supporting a loved one through addiction can feel overwhelming, especially within the unique pressures of aviation life.
This space is designed to give you support, clarity, and practical tools—so you can care for yourself while supporting someone else.
Whether it’s your first meeting or you’ve joined us many times before, you’ll be welcomed into a supportive and respectful space.
In each meeting, you can expect:
There is no pressure to speak—you are welcome to simply listen and take in what feels helpful. Every meeting is designed to support you, wherever you are in your journey.
